For School Administrators

A Supplemental Curriculum Resource That Improves Early Childhood Education

My Music Starts Here is a supplemental curriculum resource designed for Pre-K, Head Start, and Special Education programs. It helps school administrators integrate music into everyday classrooms to accelerate brain development, literacy, math, social-emotional learning, and more.

Created by early childhood educators for early childhood educators, the program bridges the gap between brain research and classroom practice—transforming the latest in neuro-musical science into joyful, accessible, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

Our 33-week classroom resource includes seven musical activities per week, naturally woven into the rhythm of the school day—from transitions to group learning to quiet reflection. All content supports deep learning and mastery while remaining curriculum-agnostic, playful, and inclusive for children ages 3–6.

How High-Quality, Developmentally Appropriate Music Education Works

My Music Starts Here is easy to implement, requires minimal training, and addresses critical gaps that post-COVID learners often bring to the start of their academic journey.

  1. You’ll receive a dedicated support team to ensure that both you and your teachers feel fully supported. Your team will guide seamless integration into your existing curriculum, with the goal of accelerating student growth, boosting teacher morale, and strengthening parent partnerships.
  2. Each classroom receives 33 weeks of content—including fingerplays, poems, and songs rooted in both the American folk tradition and original compositions by My Music Starts Here. Many songs involve movement and sequencing, challenging children to sing melodies, keep a steady beat, perform motions, and follow storylines—all at once. Each classroom also receives curated audio playlists featuring high-quality music across genres that inspire active listening, movement, creativity, and storytelling.
  3. Our team helps your school implement a whole-classroom approach to music making, engaging all children simultaneously. It’s not enough to leave instruments in a corner—true impact happens when teachers and students make music together. This shared experience builds community, encourages positive interactions, and helps children develop essential social-emotional skills.
